Remote Jobs at Optum

Today, I’m going to show you remote jobs that are posted at Optum, as well as two other work from home jobs, including a no interview opportunity and one with a 4-day work week. Hey everyone, it’s Suzanne. Today’s first remote opportunity is a no interview opportunity with the company ProofreadingServices.com.

That means someone who’s really going to be skilled at doing proofreading and editing manuscripts. Now, for that, they are going to offer some ranges of pay between $19 and $46 per hour, but that does depend on the turnaround time. So, the better you are and the quicker you are at proofreading and editing these manuscripts, the more you can expect to be paid.

Application Process and Testing for Proofreading Job

One of the benefits is you can have flexible hours. You can work when you want from anywhere. So, if you are interested in applying for the proofreading job, you can complete this 20-minute preliminary test by clicking on the apply to be an online proofreader.

Freelancers’ Feedback on ProofreadingJobs

So, it’s really important for me to share with you all of the pros and the cons of these types of positions, because a lot of times these no interview positions come with quite a few cons.

Bottom Line on Proofreading Job Suitability

One of the pros or common positive reviews is that some of these freelancers have worked with the company for years, and they believe that they are getting a fair pay and flexible hours. However, some freelancers report lower pay, inconsistent direction, and unrealistic expectations.

Quest Diagnostics Job Details and Location

And that’s where this next job comes in. This is a fully remote full-time position with Quest Diagnostics. You may know them as the company that does lab work on you. Whenever you go to the doctor, you get your blood taken to see if there’s anything wrong with you. And Quest hires a few remote positions.

Clarification on Location Requirements for Quest Job

Now, the location here is listed as Clifton, New Jersey, with work mode remote. So, it doesn’t say anywhere in this job listing that you have to live near Clifton, New Jersey. It really just depends on the employer unless they specifically say in the job lead that you do have to live within a commutable distance, but this role does not say that.

How to Confirm Remote Eligibility with Quest

So, if you have a question about that, you can certainly reach out to Quest in their HR department and find out if they are open to remote or you can just apply and give it a shot.

Provider Enrollment Specialist Role at Quest

So, this is a provider enrollment specialist, and they do give you their range here. So, remember to keep in mind that that depends on your experience, skills, and where you live. It does say that you could be eligible for a performance bonus as well.

They’re going to give you vacation and flexible time off. Six holidays plus one “my day off.” That’s probably like a personal day. You get to choose whenever you want to take that off.

Overview of Optum and UnitedCare Remote Jobs

All right. And the last company that I’m highlighting is Optum. Optum and UnitedCare are connected.

How to Find Remote Jobs at Optum

So, first I’m going to show you how to find these remote positions just in case any jobs I show you today have expired. You can go back. You can find more jobs. They’re always hiring off and on for these remote positions.

You’re going to go to their career page and then you’re going to click on Search Careers, and that is going to take you to their job listing.

Filtering Jobs for Remote Work and National Positions

So, right now I have it filtered on Optum. You can also put in here UnitedHealthcare as they both post jobs on this career page.

That will open up everything wide. So, you can see all of their results.

Right now, we’re at 3,500, but we have not filtered on remote jobs yet. So, we definitely want to come down here to remote jobs and click on that box, and it’s going to bring up everything that is open to working remotely.

Now, what I like to do up here in keywords is I like to put in the word “national” because a lot of positions hire nationally remote.

And this way, you don’t have to worry about is this job open nationally from anywhere in the US or do I actually have to be located near the location in the job posting.

If it says nationally remote, that means you can work from anywhere in the US.

Job Levels and Categories to Explore at Optum

And now that I have all my results, which right now I have 545, let’s go ahead and look at job level.

And we’re going to just click on either individual contributor. You could do recent graduate if you’ve graduated or student internships.

You can also do higher level positions if that’s you, if you have management experience, or you’re at the executive or directive level.

Narrowing Job Categories for Better Search

And so we’re going to scroll down and look through all of the different job postings they have.

They also have a provider enrollment representative, very similar to the one at Quest I just showed you.

There’s a lot to scroll down through here.

So maybe what we want to do is we want to drill down just a little bit more under job category.

Let’s go ahead and do some things like admin support services.

Let’s click in here again and pick billing.

And then let’s try claims, and I saw customer service.

So let’s do that one as well.

Patient Support Center Representative Job Details

Okay.

So, this is going to give us all of those positions that they’re hiring for in claims, customer service representatives, and we came up with 20 results.

Let’s go ahead and click on this patient support center representative.

It doesn’t have national in the title, but it does have a couple different locations listed.

And I find that those tend to be more likely to be fully remote.

If it’s just one location and it doesn’t have national remote in here, then those tend to say that you have to work within a certain distance of that location.

So, let’s go to this patient support center.
