Top 5 Real Estate Photography Gig & Hourly Jobs to Try Now

Real estate photography gig jobs

Today, we’re going to talk about five companies that will pay you to go take pictures of real estate, and you don’t even need experience. So, I wanted to do this article because I actually applied for this years ago before me getting into real estate. I figured it was an opportunity for me to actually see, uh, properties, judge them myself before I was an experienced investor. So, it’s actually a good entry way, uh, into real estate.

Side Hustle Opportunity in Real Estate Photography

And also, it’s a good way for a side hustle to gain extra money. You can, uh, gain up to $400 a month. I’ve heard of people making $400 or $5,000 a month. What is the job?

Understanding the Role of a Field Inspector

So, what you will be doing is being a field inspector. Now, a field inspector is very different than a property inspector. A property inspector is someone who, uh, goes out and they, uh, are trained. Uh, they do some school or some courses and they, uh, inspect a property for homeowners. If you’re purchasing a home, if you’ve ever purchased a home, you know that you need a property inspection per the bank.

Difference Between Property and Field Inspectors

So, the bank says, “Yes, you need a property inspector to go out and check the property to ensure that it’s a good property to purchase and it’s not in crumbles, right?” And they will not, um, lend you the money for a property that’s in crumbles because, or shambles because, yes, in shambles. A field inspector is quite different.

No Experience Needed for Field Inspectors

A field inspector you don’t need any experience. So, no experience needed. And what you’re doing is simply going out to these properties and you’re just taking pictures, right? So, you’re taking pictures. They may require for you to take a front picture, back picture of the backyard, side, etc.

Pros and Cons of Being a Field Inspector

Now there are pros and cons to both of these. One of the pros to being a field inspector is that you will have to maybe get out, you not maybe you have to get out your car, go to the property and take pictures. They don’t want to, uh, have people talk to them, etc.

Independence and Flexibility in the Job

But, um, yeah, that’s, that’s one of the, the cons is that you got to get out the car and actually take the pictures. One of the pros is that you’re independent contractor, so you are making your own time. You can take the gigs that you want and you don’t have to take the gigs.

First Website: I View It Overview

So, um, that’s a pretty cool aspect that you’re an independent contractor and you can do these jobs as you please. Okay, so let me get into it. The very first website is I View It. Okay, so I View It. So, as I go along, I’ll continue to talk about some of the pros and cons or the description of the job so you can see if you want to do this or not.

Details About I View It

Um, and I’ll also talk about pay. So, how much does this pay? So, you’re doing all this running around. How much does this pay and what do you need? Okay, in order to get started, but first let’s talk about one of the websites. This is I View It.

How to Spell and Use I View It

All right, so I View It. So it’s spelled a little bit differently. I V ue it. So I View It is one of the websites I wanted to run down and discuss with you guys. So I View It, um, they work in a lot of different areas, right? So you will be taking pictures in a lot of different areas.

Mortgage Field Inspectors and Their Role

And mind you, what I’m talking about is mortgage field inspectors. So, these are banks or lending institutions and sometimes property managers or folks, um, that need pictures of their property. Now, these properties could be going through foreclosure. They could still be, uh, lived in or occupied.

Occupied or Not: What Field Inspectors Look For

Uh, so, you as the field inspector will be, uh, taking pictures also to see if it’s occupied or not. And that’s what they’re looking for. And in a second, I’m going to show you an email on the second website that I discussed with you guys. I’ll, uh, share with you an email that was sent to me personally when I was interested in the field inspector position.

Equipment Needed for Field Inspectors

Okay? So you can see what, what the requirements actually are. So what you will need is, as you see in this picture, you’ll need a phone or a phone. Not the phone, but a, uh, a way to take pictures if you have a camera, but most people do have a phone or smartphone.

Using Your Phone to Take Pictures

So you can take pictures with your phone. That’s what I would do. So I wouldn’t go out and purchase anything. You may need a selfie stick to kind of get some of these pictures. You don’t necessarily need it. If I were getting started, I would not buy a selfie stick.

Getting Started Without Spending Much Money

Um, it may come a little later, but I want you to get into this position without spending much money at all. I’m just running down some of the things you may want to look into to make your job a lot easier when you’re going down and visiting these properties. Uh, these properties.

Pay Range for Field Inspectors

So let’s talk about the pay. So, what these companies will be paying you is a range, and it just varies on what they’re actually asking you to do. So, it could be $10, as low as $10 per, um, property up to $75, $80, $100 per property, right?

Hustling to Meet Income Goals

So, if you’re doing a couple of these a day, they can really add up. And like I said earlier, you would need to hustle in order to meet that $400, $500 quota. And you don’t just have to work for one company. You can work for multiple companies and structure your day the way you want to.

Being an Independent Contractor is a Pro

You’re independent contractor. Once again, that’s one of the pros. And, uh, yeah, you can get this job done very, very, um, fairly efficiently, right? So you can be efficient with it.

Second Website: GIS Field Services Introduction

So this is I View It. Let me go to the next website. The second website I want to discuss is GIS Field Services. Now GIS Field Services, um, they actually reached out to me and I’m going to tell you how they got my information in just a second.

GIS Field Services and Mortgage Photography

That’ll be my third website that I go over. But GIS Field Services is a great way to find these, uh, positions to take pictures for mortgage, uh, mortgage companies, right? So the banks and lending institutions need these photos again because they need to see the condition of the property and, yeah, they can see the occupancy as well.

Email Details from GIS Field Services

All right. So, GIS Field Services. Let me show you an email that I received. And yeah, it’ll, it’ll help you. It’ll help with your, uh, understanding of what you actually need because some of these companies do require a background check. Some of them don’t.

Aspen Grove ABC Number Requirement

This one in particular, GIS Field Services, they do. Okay. They require that you have an Aspen Grove ABC number. I’ll get into in just a second, but, um, this is the email that was sent directly to me.

Types of Inspections Performed by GIS Field Services

And it says, uh, we perform the following mortgage field inspections, occupancy, vacant walkthroughs. So they may want you to, if the property is vacant, to go in and take some pictures of the interior, disaster.

Insurance Claims and Disaster Photography

So this particular company goes over like insurance claims as well. So, if there’s a tornado or a natural disaster in the area and it impacts a home, they want you to go take pictures of it because folks who have property insurance, they can claim, um, you know, some of this damage and have the, um, insurance company pay for that damage, but first they need pictures of what the damage is. And that’s where you come in.

Exterior-Only Inspections Mostly

Uh, for bankruptcy, insurance loss drafts, the majority of our inspections are exterior only. So they, and, um, except for this one, vacant walkthroughs, most of them are exterior only. So you’re going on the outside of the property.

Preferred Requirements for GIS Field Services

Okay, so they didn’t necessarily say you needed these things, right? And it says preferred requirements experience using inspector AD. Seems like it’s an inspection phone application or app. An Aspen Grove ABC number current or expired.

What is an Aspen Grove ABC Number?

So I actually have an Aspen Grove ABC number. It’s simply like a background check that they would do. It’s a very intensive background check, um, that they do and you can have it for your business to cover everything and make sure you are good to go or G to G and can start.

Third Website: sofi.us Introduction

All right. The third website I want to talk about, it doesn’t seem real. Like if you look at the website, it just does–not seem like up to date, right??? But I promise you that this website, this is where I started

Using sofi.us for Opportunities

So what I did is I went on sofi us. So that is the website, sofi.us. And what I did was I put in my information so that they could seek me, right? So this is a database for notaries. This is a database if you want to be a field inspector. And I’m actually a notary as well.

Notary Status and Website Use

Um, but you don’t have to be a notary in order to use this website. So keep that in mind. So, um, what you do is you click join now and it’ll take you to some questions that they’re asking you in this directory and you can put in your preferences like what are you looking to do?

Job Preferences on sofi.us

Okay. Are you looking to do commercial? Let me scroll down a little bit more. Are you looking to do commercial inspections, insurance inspections, notary, signing agent, property preservation, broker price opinion, etc.?

Know Your Interest Before Applying

And if you don’t know what that means, then that may not be the position for you. So don’t apply if you don’t know what it means or if you don’t have any interest in it. So that’s keep in your mind.

Providing Your Information on sofi.us

So, um, you just put your email address and your information in there, your name, they will reach out to you and that’s how these folks like GIS Field Services and other folks were reaching out to me because I put all my information here.

Minimal Information Required

All right, not too much information. It doesn’t ask for anything that deep, but I just wanted to bring that to your attention.

Fourth Website: We Go Look Overview

So the fourth website I want to talk about is We Go Look. Okay, so wegolook.com. Now I actually recommend this for folks, too, if you are a property investor.

Using We Go Look for Property Pictures

So let’s switch over to the other side. If you are a property investor and you need for pictures to be taken of a property, let’s say you live in Alabama and you’re invested in Mississippi and you need, hey, I need some pictures of this land that I want to purchase.

Getting Pictures or Becoming a Field Inspector

I’m thinking about purchasing. This is one website that you can get pictures of or hire folks to give you pictures.

Becoming an Independent Contractor at We Go Look

And on the flip side, you could be a field inspector. You could be the person who is taking the pictures.

So, um, if you wanted to be an independent contractor through wegolook.com, you could do so. They’ll send you the information. They’ll send you the pay and all that good stuff per picture what you’re, you’re, um, getting paid. So keep that in mind.

Fifth Website: Proxy Pix Introduction

The last one I want to talk about is Proxy Pix. So Proxy Pix is another company. They do real estate, um, insurance, etc.

How to Get Started with Proxy Pix

And what you do is you go on the website and just like all other websites, you just simply sign up. All right.
